Are you doctors or nurses?
No. Cara is a psychotherapist who has lived with type 1 for 40 years, and Jamie builds software. We work alongside your diabetes team, never instead of them.
Cara has lived with type 1 for 40 years and works as a psychotherapist. Jamie builds the software. Together we help you see how your own days move your glucose, and what that feels like to live with, so you can work towards the A1C and time-in-range goals you’ve set with your diabetes team.
At the end, you get a detailed report of your patterns to take to your team.
We never tell you how much insulin to take or change your pump settings: that stays with you and your diabetes team.

You count it the same way. Monday it’s fine; Tuesday you’re high until lunch.
The 3am alarm, the jelly sweets by the bed, and the tiredness that follows you all next day.
Hundreds of small decisions a day, and the feeling that you’re failing at something nobody else can see.
Rules written for everyone, and fifteen minutes at clinic twice a year.
None of that means you’re doing it wrong. It usually means nobody has looked at your life and your numbers together, with you, for long enough to see the pattern.
Made-up days, drawn for illustration.
O 168 224 Your guides
I spent years wondering why the same breakfast behaved differently on different mornings.
Cara was diagnosed as a child and has lived through injections, pens, pumps and now a closed loop. She knows the parts the leaflets leave out, because she has lived them.
Burnout, fear of lows and the guilt around numbers are part of type 1, not a side issue. Cara is an IACP-accredited psychotherapist, working with clients since 2011, so that part gets real time.
Jamie’s software lines up your glucose with your real days, so we talk about what happens to you, not what happens to most people.
Only what you choose to share, only with your consent. Nothing connects to your pump or changes it.

The kind of thing we find, set beside the general advice it replaces. Examples, not anyone’s real results.
The leaflet saysHigh-fat meals can raise glucose later.
Your days showYour Friday pizza rises about three hours after you eat, long after your other dinners have settled.
The leaflet saysExercise lowers blood glucose.
Your days showOn days you walk home, you tend to dip about an hour after you get in, not during the walk.
The leaflet saysStress and sleep can affect your glucose.
Your days showYour three hardest days this month followed the three nights you slept under six hours.
We describe what happened. Decisions about insulin and your pump settings stay with you and your diabetes team, and we help you bring them a clear picture.
O 172 229 Our story
T1Days began as an app Jamie built for Cara, to make sense of her own type 1: the coffee on the go, the late pizza, the hot days, the nights the sensor dropped out.
Seeing her life and her numbers side by side changed the conversations she had with her diabetes team. The patterns weren’t in any leaflet. They were in her days. Now we’d like to do the same with you.
Psychotherapist · 40 years with type 1
Cara was diagnosed with type 1 as a child and has lived with it for 40 years: injections, pens, pumps and now a closed loop. She is an IACP-accredited integrative humanistic psychotherapist and has worked with clients since 2011. She holds a Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy and a Higher Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy, with further training in CBT, mindfulness, Autism Informed Therapy and complex PTSD.
She also founded Hike Psych, Ireland’s original hiking psychotherapy practice, where sessions happen walking or sitting outdoors around South Dublin, and online. In all of it she works from one belief: you are the expert on you.
Builds the software · Cara’s fiancé
Jamie has worked in the tech industry for over 30 years. He designed and built T1Days for Cara, from the meal photos and the patterns behind them to the companion side that lets him know she’s OK through the night.
He turns your glucose, meals and days into pictures you can actually read, and keeps your data private and in the EU. Away from the screen he’s a Dublin poet and author, writing as The Wandering Paddy.
O 174 231 For the people beside you
The T1Days app has a companion side, for a partner, parent or close friend. We built it for ourselves first: for the nights Jamie wanted to know Cara was OK without waking her, and the days we’re not in the same place.
It isn’t an alarm. Glucose data can run an hour or more behind, so your sensor and pump alerts stay your warning, and it never replaces a phone call.

Ninety days, walked together. You set the pace; we bring the map, and a report for your diabetes team at the end.
| Stage | When | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Week 0 | A free callTwenty minutes to hear what’s hardest right now, and whether we’re the right fit. No forms to fill first. |
| 2 | Weeks 1–3 | Your patterns, togetherWith your consent you share your glucose data and snap a photo of what you eat, living as you normally do. Then Cara and Jamie go through your own patterns with you, and make room for how it all feels, not only the numbers. |
| 3 | Up to three months | Alongside youSessions every two weeks as life happens, with your patterns updated along the way, and a plain summary to take home after each one. |
| 4 | Day 90 | Your review, and your clinicWe look back over the three months with you. If you’d like, one of us comes with you to your diabetes clinic appointment to pass on what we’ve found, together. |
Results, with consent
When a client agrees, we’ll share their report the way they’d show it to their diabetes team: the same sensor, the same target range, side by side. Everyone’s type 1 is different, and results vary.
Placeholder: every figure below is made up to show the layout. It will only ever be replaced by a real client’s own report, shared with their written consent.
Before 90 days before starting
After 90 days with us: the pattern review, then twelve weeks
“[In the client’s own words: what changed for them, if they want to say.]”
Same sensor, same target range, [99%] sensor wear in both periods. One person’s results, shared with their consent; yours will be your own. Changes to insulin or settings were made only with their diabetes team.

We started with CamAPS FX. If you use another pump or sensor, tell us on the first call and we’ll be honest about what we can look at together.
It’s used only to support you, only with your explicit consent, and kept in the EU. You can see it, take it with you or have it deleted at any time. Our privacy notice has the detail.
It works best with a continuous glucose monitor. If you don’t use one, talk to us on the first call about what we can still look at together.
Yes, and so is someone thirty years in who is tired of it. What matters is that it feels harder than it should, and you’d like to understand why.
Yes, if you’d like us to and your clinic is happy with it. At the end of the three months one of us can join you, in person or on the call, to pass on what we found together. We ask you first and share only what you agree to. Your diabetes team stays in charge of your treatment.
We’re not an emergency service. For a severe low or high, contact your diabetes team or call 112 or 999. If you’re in distress, Samaritans are there day and night on 116 123.
